Legislator Losquadro Co-Sponsors Bill to Ban Drop-Side Cribs

Mount Sinai, NY- Suffolk County Legislator and Minority Leader Daniel P. Losquadro (R- Shoreham) co-sponsored a bill today to ban the sale of Drop-Side Cribs in Suffolk County. In the past eighteen months, these cribs have led to at least three infant deaths and many injuries throughout the United States. Additionally, according to a February 2009 report issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) there were a total of 90 deaths reported from 2003-2005.

“Suffolk County has a tradition of taking the lead in the nation when it comes to passing important legislation. I am pleased to be able to co-sponsor this bill with the rest of my colleagues in Legislature. If this ban saves one life or stops one injury from happening, it is worth it,” said Legislator Losquadro.
